How the Application Process Works
Choosing a school involves more than paperwork. You're deciding where your child will spend their days, who will teach them, and what community will shape their experience. A good application process answers your questions and sets clear expectations from the start.
Applying to XWA involves five steps:
submit your application, pay the application fee, complete any required assessments, receive a decision, and confirm enrolment. The Admissions Team manages the process and contacts you directly at each stage.
Most families want to know three things before they begin:
How long will this take?
International schools in Singapore typically provide decisions within two to four weeks of a completed application.
What documents do I need?
You'll upload documents during the online application. All documents must be in English or include certified English translations. The Application Checklist shows exactly what's required, so you can gather everything before you start.
What will it cost?
Two fees apply: an Application Fee of SGD 288 (non-refundable, due at submission) and an Enrolment Fee of SGD 6,355 (non-refundable, due when accepting an offer). Tuition fees are invoiced separately after enrolment is confirmed. There are no hidden charges during the application process.

For families relocating to Singapore, the Admissions Team can help beyond the application itself. Moving countries with children involves more than school paperwork, and the team regularly speaks with families about visa timelines, neighbourhoods near the campus, and practical settling-in questions. If you're applying from overseas, virtual meetings and campus tours are available so you can see the school before you arrive.

Five steps to enrolment
Submit Your Application
Start at the XWA Application Portal. You'll create an account, complete the application form, and upload supporting documents.
Documents you'll need:
- Your child's birth certificate or passport
- Academic records from the current or most recent school
- Any additional documents specified on the Application Checklist
The checklist covers everything required for each grade level, so you can gather documents before you begin.
All supporting documents must be in English, and documents in other languages require certified English translations.
Once submitted, the Admissions Team will confirm receipt and outline next steps.
Pay the Application Fee
To begin the review process, pay the Application Fee of SGD 288 (inclusive of GST), which is non-refundable.
Payment options:
- PayNow (UEN: 200803726H123)
- Bank transfer
- Credit card (online or in person)
- Cheque
Cash payments are accepted only in exceptional circumstances.
Application Review
The Enrolments Team and Education Leadership Team review each application. Review times vary depending on the volume of applications and the grade level, but most families receive a decision within two to four weeks of completing their application.
What happens during review:
Some applicants may be invited to complete an English Language proficiency assessment. This helps determine what language support, if any, might be appropriate. The assessment does not affect admission decisions. It identifies the right level of EAL support so students receive appropriate help from the start.
Some families may be invited to a Family Meeting with the Education Leadership Team. The meeting is an informal conversation. The school wants to understand learning history, interests, and any support needs. Parents often find these meetings helpful for asking questions about classroom approaches, social integration, and what the first few weeks will look like.
The Admissions Team coordinates all arrangements and will contact you if either an assessment or meeting is required.
Receive Your Offer
Successful applicants receive an official Offer Letter from the Registrar and Enrolment Department. The letter includes:
- The grade level and programme offered
- The deadline for accepting the offer
- Instructions for paying the Enrolment Fee
This is a significant decision, and the Admissions Team is available to answer any final questions before you accept. If you need more time due to relocation logistics or pending decisions from other schools, contact the team to discuss your situation.
To confirm your child's place, pay the Enrolment Fee of SGD 6,355 (inclusive of GST). This is a one-time fee, non-refundable and non-transferable.
After payment, you'll receive a Student Contract for review and acceptance, along with an invoice for first-semester tuition fees.
Enrolment Complete
Once all documentation is submitted and fees paid, enrolment is confirmed. You'll receive a Welcome Information pack with everything needed to prepare for the first day: uniform details, transport options, term dates, and orientation schedules.
Starting at a new school is a transition for the whole family.

Application
- All supporting documents for the online application must be in English. If any supporting document is not written in English, a certified English translation is required.
- Please read through our admissions criteria and our age placement chart, as this will help to make the application process easier.Use this checklist to ensure that you have included all necessary documentation to support your application.
- You will be required to submit a signed Student Contract, copy of student’s, parent’s and guardian’s (if applicable) valid Singapore identification cards, waiver and general consent forms prior to the course commencement date.
Fees
The Application Fee is SGD 288 (non-refundable, inclusive of GST) and is payable in full upon submission of your application in order for it to be processed.
The Enrolment Fee will become due upon completion of the application process. This is a one-time, non-refundable and non-transferable fee of SGD 6,355 (inclusive of GST) and must be paid on or before the due date for the payment as stipulated on the invoice.
The payment can be processed via:
- PayNow: UEN 200803726H123,
- Wire/bank transfer,
- Cheque payment,
- Payment by credit card at the school,
- Payment by credit card via the online gateway,
- Cash – The school discourages cash payments, and cash is only accepted in exceptional circumstances.
