Dear XWA Community,

The future of XWA is bright, and I'm excited to share our new strategic plan with you: Shaping Next, Now: Empowering Global Citizens for Tomorrow. This plan will provide clear direction and focus for the actions we take to achieve our goals.

Our plan is the result of a year-long collaborative effort, incorporating the valuable insights and perspectives of students, parents, faculty, and staff. Your voices have been instrumental in shaping this exciting vision for our future.

These commitments are reflected in our vision to ASPIRE, ACT, GROW and our mission which is to empower an inclusive international community of happy learners who aspire to positively impact others.

I am confident that, together, we can achieve these goals and make XWA an even more exceptional place to learn and grow. I look forward to partnering with you on this journey.

90% of Parents Say the Atmosphere Is Warm, Welcoming, and Inclusive

Before writing this plan, XWA surveyed more than 1,000 parents, students, and staff. Here's what they said:

  • 90% of parents feel the school atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and inclusive.
  • 85% of parents are happy with the experience their child is getting.
  • 93% of staff feel supported by their colleagues.
  • 88% of staff and faculty feel respected by the parent community.
  • 84% of students say they've been taught to use technology safely and responsibly.
  • 82% of students feel they are growing their independence at XWA.

These findings shaped the plan. XWA is building on what's working and addressing where the community sees room to grow.

"I love the feeling as I walk in: peaceful, cozy, welcoming and vigorous. I feel it's real and authentic to what you claim to be."

Strategic Commitments That Shape Your Child's Experience

The Strategic Plan is built on three strategic commitments. Each one connects directly to your child's daily life at XWA.

Preparing Students for What Comes Next

The world your child graduates into will look different from today. This commitment ensures students leave XWA with more than academic credentials: they'll have the skills, adaptability, and confidence to navigate whatever comes next.

What this means for your child:

‍‍
Your child will follow a personalised learning pathway designed around their strengths and goals.
They'll develop digital citizenship skills: the ethics, awareness, and critical thinking that enable them to engage responsibly with technology.
Assessment focuses on growth and learning. Your child will understand their own progress and take ownership of their education.
Your child will benefit from teaching that improves year on year. Ongoing staff development in differentiation and innovative assessment keeps classroom practice evolving.
The bilingual programme is expanding through primary years, and English as an additional language support is also available, ensuring students from all language backgrounds can access the full curriculum.

Wellbeing and Belonging Come First

Children learn best when they feel safe, known, and valued. That's why wellbeing sits at the centre of school life at XWA.

What this means for your child:

Counselling services and structured wellbeing programmes support your child's social and emotional health alongside their academic progress. The use of a bespoke platform, Komodo, further strengthens this approach by tracking student wellbeing and enabling early intervention before concerns escalate.
Respect, fairness, and belonging are embedded into curriculum design, classroom culture, and extracurricular activities. They're woven into how the school operates.
Regular events and assemblies celebrate cultural understanding and elevate student voice. Your child will see their identity reflected and valued.
XWA partners with families on wellbeing initiatives, creating a joined-up approach to your child's mental, physical, and emotional health.

Thoughtful, Not Disruptive Change

Schools improve by evolving. But change handled poorly creates uncertainty for families. This commitment ensures that as XWA evolves, you're informed, consulted, and never blindsided.

What this means for your family:

New initiatives are developed with input from parents, students, and staff. You'll have a voice in decisions that affect your child.
Communication is clear and consistent across the school. When things change, you'll understand why and what it means.
Transitions happen gradually, with structured planning. XWA balances innovation with continuity, so improvement doesn't come at the cost of stability.
The community is actively involved in decisions. This is a shared journey.

See These Commitments in Action

"I feel happy, proud that I go to this school, ready to learn and to discover new things about myself.""I love the feeling as I walk in: peaceful, cozy, welcoming and vigorous. I feel it's real and authentic to what you claim to be."

The best way to see how these commitments translate into daily school life is to visit. Book a campus tour and experience the culture for yourself: in classrooms, in conversations with teachers, and in the atmosphere you'll feel the moment you walk in.
